And as much as I hope it's true, it just doesn't seem likely.
For one, Sega would have to pull something MAJOR outta the bag to become even slightly profitable.
Take MS, for example. Only since Halo 3 have they started to see profits. Now that makes 6 years before they got their game on.
So unless Sega pull a Wii, I really think this's unlikely.

I really hope I'm proved wrong.

maybe in a year or maybe 2, now the console would die, as for power, dreamcast as many japanese things would beat completly the PS3, as for distribuiting or comercials, SEGA NEEDS TO LEARN ALOT, if not take a look at PS2 or PS3........we see comercials everywhere.
hmmm, not sure if sega is ready, that kind of a project needs alot of money and sega cannot make the same mistake as the dreamcast, or else sega will be cutting off money losses like servers shutdown.......
"Wishful thinking in the rumor mill." Explains it perfectly.
Notice that he didn't say they had no plans for the handheld business.... Maybe there's something there?
Again, my hopes will probably be dashed but it would definitely be an interesting proposition...
I'd say that if they wanted to, Sega could pull off a handheld Dreamcast-type.... They could call it the DreamGear!

Considering that the PSP is basically a handheld PS2, it wouldn't be that difficult.
That is something to think on. A handheld Dreamcast... I heard tell some while ago of a handheld X-Box, it could be in similar vein to this.
i dont know about that, i think he probably meant consoles as the whole "item" as it were i also reckon that he may have said that they would be in the handheld buisness.
Much as I wish I could disagree there, I have to agree. "console" denotes both handheld and home-based systems.
