It was just announced that the PS3 is getting a price cut and a new slimmer model anyone have any thoughts or comments on this?

I have been reading and it seems that new PS3 won't have a backward compatibility with PS2 games, any confirmation?

Also, the real reason why PS3 is slim.

I hope they do add the backward compatbilty for the ps2. I still play ps2 game from time to time. I'm glad they made the ps3 cheaper since it did cost a bit much.

The slim ps3 look kind of weird though....but im sure when i see it for real i bet it would look nice....maybe...

Well the PS3 slim kinda reminds me of the PS2.The flat sturdy plastic case, the buttons replacing the touch sensitive front panel. I just hope the specs aren't to different from the old PS3 like the wifi connection. And the chances of a malfunction I hope won't increase.

It's true. They won't be adding PS2 compatibility.
