Just a question,I know that to have internet on my PC as I use the GC online,I need a Router, but I have my stuff conected to a HUB.Could I conect a Router to a HUB,thus allowing me to go online on the PC with the GC online too?
Aren't they bascially the same thing? A hub is a poorer version of a router? I can't remember.
I'm no expert but I believe they are indeed pretty much the same thing.
From all the investigating I did into trying to get my GC online I did find out you will need two IP addresses from your ISP if you want to use the GC and PC online at the same time.
hehehe. No you don't. They just want you to pay for another IP address. It is in fact possible. Ask most of the people here. Me, Junon, Zero use ICS to connect. (actually not sure about Zero, there you go though =/).
Depends on what version of Window you are running. If you are using Win 98 SE, a BBA for your GC, and have an ethernet cable (can't remember if cross over or not), I can help you. Junon might be able to help with Win XP but he had trouble recently with setting it up on another PC. He's got it to work before though.
They lied to me?!?! GAH!
I've just got a cable modem with a RJ45 socket so can only use one at a time. After paying nearly 60 quid to get the GC online I'll pass on paying anymore money. It only takes a minute to turn off the modem, change cables and power it back up again anyway!
I'm running Windows ME, which is rubbish so I doubt I can be helped!!!
You need a network card, and a cable for about £3. Using the way most people do, you need your PC on at the same time as the GC.
