Play on hard, v. hard, and ultimate?

I'm not there personally. I'm still on Normal in the Mines *lvl 20.. ><* but that's what I've been told.

There also some rares to be found in normal.

What kind of rare items are you after?

Perhaps this should be in the item findings section?

I dunno which one of us you were talking to, but I'm after Soul Eater.. any dblsaber and scythes... but that's just me. I have a Partisan right now and it's happy.. ^^

I found that in Normal and I'm just into Mines now.

EDIT: Say, can anyone tell me what Photon Drops are and what they are for? My bf found one on his game and wants to know what it is and does. I dunno what it does, so I'm kind of asking fellow PSO-ers. ^^ Thanks for the help

photon drops or pds are items that can be exchanged on an online quest for the likes of adding %'s to weapons and items that make weapons better e.g. photon booster + frozen shooter = snow queen

to get the soul eater you need to:
1. You must have completed ALL quests once and beaten the game once (so you
can choose between normal or hard)

2. After you have done the above, select normal (or whatever diff) and
complete the quest ''DR. OSTO'S RESEARCH''. In this quest, you must NOT tell
your name to SUE (If you do or did already, stop and try this quest on another
difficulty). After you complete the quest and SUE leaves, a telepipe will pop
up. Don't go in it. Talk to the other NPC on the map (red and black RAmar
(human ranger)). Then go in the telepipe and finish the quest.

3. Now, do the quest ''UNSEALED DOOR''. You will see SUE again. Talk to her
until she leaves.

***You will see SUE outside the shops and near the bank when you start the
quest ''WATERFALL TEARS''. Talk to her then continue

4. Next, do the quest ''WATERFALL TEARS''. You will fight Anna twice during
this quest. When you defeat her in CAVES 2 (a rainbow is in the room), you
will see a green arrow not that far up (if you did everything correctly to
this point), this is KIREEK (BLACK HOUND). Defeat him and go back to the guild
to complete the quest.

5. In the next quest, ''BLACK PAPER'', you will encounter KIREEK again. This
time I am not sure about if his arrow shows up on the map, but he will be in
the DARK ROOM near the WARP to CAVES 2. Defeat him a second time and then
finish the quest.

6. In the final quest ''FROM THE DEPTHS'', just get to the end of the quest
(in RUINS 3) when you have to copy the monument data (at the computer). When
ASH leaves your party to look for survivors, DO NOT take the telepipe.
Instead, find the warp back to RUINS 2 and you will see two arrows. These
arrows are for ASH and BLACK HOUND (KIREEK). Defeat KIREEK a FINAL time and
you will receive the SOUL EATER. (this is for the dreamcast version that i got of another site i dont know why they would've changed it, and you have to complete the quests)

Yeah, you can find special items almost anywhere. Offline, I've only been able to find photon drops in normal, and then weapons and equippable stuff, and addslots in hard, and v hard. I'm not on ultimate yet. But basically, you just have to play a lot and kill a lot of guys to find special stuff. Don't open the green boxes in the forsest, or the other offcolor boxes, they have set items and never have special items.
Its random whether or not youll find stuff. I go through the Forest on v hard a whole bunch for experience, and I've found nothing many times. But on one run, I got a boomas right arm, hildebears head, dbs saber, and club of laconium. It all depends. GL finding those items.

Yeah, I've heard that Addslots are really rare in normal mode, but... I just found one a few days ago on normal.. in the forest.. behind one of the laser "locked" things.. yeah, I was hesistant to pick it up at first but then it was like "oh...It's a rare thing...Yay,...." Yeah, I'm a noob, oh well. Gotta start somewhere. I played the demo for about a year.. o.o No new finds since the Addslot.

I've acquired (lvl.30ish, still in Normal) so far 4 AddSlots, 5 PDs, and a Booma Arm... but yeah I don't expect to find any rare weapons in Normal... but with this much Mes. I can just buy stuff lol

im just got to hard and so far all i have found is 3 PDs 1 AddSlot and G-assassins arms
