First of all, what a piss poor moderating team. Who decides to annul any opion that conflicts with thiers abusing their power to silence anyone who disagrees with them.
If you're not aware of where this rants coming from i suggest that you read around in the Ep3 forum for a bit a just look for the locked topics, and mods before you ban me for swearing and backing up my point, just consider the situation.
The two threads with the potential for a little debate (that is what forums are for) have been locked by Ivan merely because he considers my viewpoint invalid. Not because im spamming but because i disagree with him, i didnt join these forums to have my views censored. Not even everyone agrees with Ivan, having done the math that was requested by Omar in the previous thread that was locked in Ivan's usual haste which prevented me replying in that thread. So i started a new one and for days it lay untouched, untill today that is, when another member of the board said how wrongfully it had been neglected. It was then that a response from Omar was submitted who is right my number was 10 times smaller than it should have been. Finally Ivan locked it, with usual eagerness, stripping the thread of any value and threatening me.

So here i lodge a complaint against Ivan the sporadic locker of topics which he disagrees with. And leave you, the moderating team with a dilemma. Ban me and back up my point free speech is not permitted on Ragol.co.uk or a accept this point as a valuable critiscm.

i see where u r comin from but i will read these treads and post my full opinion on the topic as i see it from then.. to be honest i dont see Ivan lettin personal disputes interfear with is modderating(that's y he is one) however everyone is human and i shall see to it myself, what little worth my word has will be thrown to the sea that is the truth and we will see where it lands, shall we not?

I've been watching this whole thing, i also moderate the Episode III areas. But to be honest i think sooner or later it would have gone to a stage where chairs started flying. Plus the amount of these topics arising has been surprising. Theres about 4 or 5 now!

Ok, I can see you point. (yes I sort of have a triggy finger ) However I do realize i have gone a bit overbored. Please notice that I wasn't "censoring" your thoughts. However the argument you started with Omar seemed much more than a debate. I locked it to prevent future flaming. And you're right, maybe I shouldn't have. But I'm only human. I make mistakes just like everyone else on this forum. I had no idea wether it was going to become a huge flame war or not. I was only trying to do my job and that is to keep the forums clean from spam/off-topic posts/flaming/flame baiting/etc. (Ok, part of it is ^_^; )

My appologies that you didn't see things my way for the reasons I locked those 2 threads. Then again I shouldn't expect you to. That's another mistake I made right there. Once again, I'm truely sorry if this has had an impact during a segment of your stay, and I will assure you I won't let it happen again.

from what ive seen Ivan was right to lock the first(it was his topic and the convo was off topic and gettin a little hot*flames rise on the screen*) however you did create a thread to specify the topic however the way the topic was set up it was more appropriate to be a PM not a thread(you stated that you were directing it towards Omar) and to that extent i can see y he did it... sry if i seem like im takin sides but im not... that's just my opinion(freedom of speech right?) well anyways i lived up to my word and gave my respose to the topic, i hope this helped...(though i doubt it)

IMHO (I haven't gone and looked, so not a direct comment on this instance) the mod team here is very laid back. Compare and contrast this from another board I used to frequent:

* Person 1 posts something off-board about board members while keeping it anonymous
* Person 2 takes umbrage and posts a huge rant about it on the board, without keeping it anonymous
* Mods 1 & 2 (both friends of Person 2 in RL) jump into action... against Person 1
* Person 1, over the next month, is hounded off the board by the mods involved

So now, of course, anyone who expresses an opinion on anything is likely to get banned instantly.

It could be much worse, folks, don't complain too hard

lol, if we were to instantly lock every thread the second it went of topic.... well to be honest, not a lot of threads would be open at the moment would they?

You should be thankful we're not on here every second of every day looking at every single word said! Being laid back creates the right atmosphere for this here forum ^_^
