Serious thanks to Omar for suggesting this to me, although I don't think he intended for me to actually go away and make percentage-based conversions of the drop-rates. He did bring up the idea in the Lobby forum under a thread referring to Skyly drop charts though, so here I am.

Further advance-credits go out to the people who made the drop-rates (heyf00l etc.)

Expect conversions for Viridia to Skyly Ultimate drop-rates by Sunday 5th.

Assuming I get heyf00l's permission to convert his material, that is...
I don't see why heyf00l would let you use his charts when he never allowed PSOW to, for instance. But assuming he does, what is the point of percent form ?

I'm not stupid or maths illiterate, but if someone tells me: you have 1 chance out of 28808 to get Guld from Gran Sorcerer, I understand it, as well as I can imagine what 1/28808 is; but if someone tells me the odds are 0,0034712579838933629547347958900305% I say "wtf, man? speak English!"
No one apart from maths freaks can visualize what such a figure represents.

Your work will bring more confusion than precision.

Speaking of presicion in randomizers... the best is simply to round up, making fractions much more reliable than anything else.
Unfortunately, heyf00l's fractions are rounded down, that's why I kinda dislike them. I told him about it since we discussed various aspects of PSO many times (and often disagreed, lol), but he wouldn't change them =/

So I say use heyf00l's charts and add 1 to most of his figures, lol, if the drop is 1/21.3 (rare monster dropping a 11-star weapon), and since you cannot have 0.3 monster, round it up to 1/22, and you have a perfectly reliable drop rate; because it's also always better to round fractions up when dealing with randomizers, since the event can happen anytime, might as well see it on the unlucky side, less disappointment.

Trying not to offend you in anyway here Kefka, but surely anyone with any sense at all can see that equals (in chances in drop charts, as this is): NO, you are not going to get this item.

But ya, I agree on the maths freak bit. No-one apart from them will understand that.

Not quite, because it may be near impossible, but it is possible still. Just might require alot of time, it doesn't mean in short that you aren't going to get this item, just that you will have to work your ass off for it.
hmm. I'll approach somebody who might possibly be a bit more charitable. I'll probably spend from now til the scheduled posting date sifting through mountains of Google results...

Scheduled posting date set back until Sunday 12th for now. I've got some figures already, just no legal stuff...

Ah yes. Should have put 'No, you are not going to get this item ANYTIME SOON. You could get it quicker. You'd need plenty of God/Luck though!!

Ok, sorry, that REALLY was a bad joke. Honest, Im not being serious, we dont need a lecture from anyone about how luck only affects critical hit ratios and stuff.
Still having trouble finding any drop rates on Google, for some reason all I get are links to heyf00l's charts.
Anybody know of somebody other than heyf00l who has made drop-rate charts? (stupid homework getting in the way, grumble grumble)

EDIT: [off topic] hmm, Google reckons PSO-World has drop-rate charts of some description. What's more, I found a link to a post on this site (I caught Orphen's name too, strangely enough) and I also found two articles with PSO as the initials: one was a Pakistani oil company and the other was Peace Support Operations.

Now how the heck am I going to get the right stuff??

Hahaha, before I actually read all of your message, that was just what I was going to do. Tongue
