When is it possible to get a corruption? e.g. When pulling out the memory card while saving.

Here's one, NEVER interupt whilst it is saving or loading.

so is that how u get corrupted? hm..... ive had a few interruptions when power went out but it never corrupted my card.

Yes, you can shut down the cube when you're in the middle of the game.

I don't know about offline but when I entered a game online back when I used dialup and I didn't have a good connection, right in the middle of saving I got FSOD and that's how I corrupted and lost my lvl 118 and my lvl 108 FOs.

It was a stupid accident

offline- yes. When you're transfering character data, and someone exits, or sometimes if the card is not very good, you can experience random ones.

OK, so it is a bad idea to go online with dial-up? I cannot afford broadband. :'(

I'm not saying dialup is bad, I'm saying my dialup was bad but if you have good service then you shouldn't have too many problems. I just don't like dialup because you're more prone to FSOD and you have more lag but it's still a good way to get online if that's all you have. I also would get pissed when I'd have to quit PSO just so someone could use the fax machine..... .

My friend got corrupted offline... he had a cheap one from GT-Line...
