I have Episode 1&2 Plus, and right now my highest-leveled character is a Lv. 61 RAmar. I read a few times about the quests and different quest rares, etc... particularly the difference bewteen the Soul Eater quest and the option to get Kireek to appear in Seat of the Heart. All the guides that were written so far deal with that quest as online only, but I assume this applies to the offline quest as well, right (I know it's only available offline in the plus version)?

While I was playing through Hard mode I tried to get that subplot done (the one with Kireek as your ally). But somewhere along the line I screwed up - I can't remember where, but I guessed that I had screwed up when I saw Sue in another quest talking about newman life spans (as opposed to saying something of value). I don't want to take any chances in VHard. So far I've done all the quests up to Gran Squall - I don't want to go any further in case talking to Bernie has any effect at all. Different guides say slightly different things - all say that I need to tell Sue my name in Dr. Osto's Research, then later she gives me info about Black Paper in another quest... but I had to go and talk to someone else, too. I think I screwed up by forgetting to talk to the red and black ranger before leaving that other quest, would that have done it? Can someone give me the exact steps? I haven't done any quests from Gran Squall forward, and I don't want to unless I know exactly what I'm doing.

A 1/2 off-topic thought: You can get a Soul Eater in all 4 difficulties, just in case you didn't know that. ^_^

I did, actually... my second character, the HUmar has one. I read in one place that all classes can equip it, is that true? Because I dislike the fact that my FOnewm can't use partisans.

Yes all classes can equip it. I know this because Hunters can use all bladed weapons, I used one with my Ranger before he got corrupted, and my brother is currently using one for his Force.

Well, I was playing Normal quests with my FOnewm just a few minutes ago, hoping to get a Soul Eater for him (Normal is too easy for that character now, but I wanted to save Hard quests for doing the other plot). As I was playing Unsealed Door I noticed Sue in that level... now that I think of it, I don't recall talking to her there when I was trying to pursue the Sue/Kireek plot. Could this have screwed me up?

I'm not sure to be honest. I've forgotten all I used to know about the quests. It would be nice if somebody else would post here....*looks around*

alright, heres the whole subplot for the soul eater ^_^. I had to look it up since I can't memorize it .

Don't tell Sue your name in the Quest Dr. Osto's Research

1. You must have completed ALL quests

2. After you have done the above, select normal (or whatever diff) and
complete the quest ''DR. OSTO'S RESEARCH''. In this quest, you must NOT tell
your name to SUE (If you do or did already, stop and try this quest on another
difficulty). After you complete the quest and SUE leaves, a telepipe will pop
up. Don't go in it. Talk to the other NPC on the map (red and black RAmar
(human ranger)). Then go in the telepipe and finish the quest.

3. Now, do the quest ''UNSEALED DOOR''. You will see SUE again. Talk to her
until she leaves.

***You will see SUE outside the shops and near the bank when you start the
quest ''WATERFALL TEARS''. Talk to her then continue with this faq.

4. Next, do the quest ''WATERFALL TEARS''. You will fight Anna twice during
this quest. When you defeat her in CAVES 2 (a rainbow is in the room), you
will see a green arrow not that far up (if you did everything correctly to
this point), this is KIREEK (BLACK HOUND). Defeat him and go back to the guild
to complete the quest.

5. In the next quest, ''BLACK PAPER'', you will encounter KIREEK again. This
time I am not sure about if his arrow shows up on the map, but he will be in
the DARK ROOM near the WARP to CAVES 2. Defeat him a second time and then
finish the quest.

6. In the final quest ''FROM THE DEPTHS'', just get to the end of the quest
(in RUINS 3) when you have to copy the monument data (at the computer). When
ASH leaves your party to look for survivors, DO NOT take the telepipe.
Instead, find the warp back to RUINS 2 and you will see two arrows. These
arrows are for ASH and BLACK HOUND (KIREEK). Defeat KIREEK a FINAL time and
you will receive the SOUL EATER.

Um... I was referring to the other subplot, the one that gets you the Ragol Ring. But I think I figured it out... now I just have to level up enough to go and try Seat of the Heart in VHard.

To get the soul eater do you miss out lionels letter?
