I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if someone made a mod for half life 2 that was like pso?

you would spawn on a ship, and teleport to areas to fight monsters and kick ass with other players, and it could be free. The major gameplay differnece would be that it's a shooter, not a target based game. all the rpg elements could be preserved, and moddified. Since it would be a pc game, new content could be released monthly, and the game could essentially be a pso:revisited deal, made by the people, for the people.

If anyone thinks it's a good or bad idea tell me

it's not like it's a stable plan yet or anything, but someone should defineitly do that, even if it has to be me.
sure, go ahead!
i would defently help with testing/bug reporting.
its sounds a bit har thought, but could be really cool.
it would be cool with both first and third person view...
Thats a good idea DO IT! Big Grin
Shouldn't this be in other gaming... or am I missing something..?
YOU GIT! I HATE YOU! I saw this thread, and thought SOMEBODY HAD MADE ONE, but it was just an idea! I am not going to forgiive you for this...
Haha... Unlucky DM...
I'm sure they didn't mean it though...
It matters not, YOU'RE ALL DEAD!
I'm sorry if i got you're hopes up

Essentially, I play a lot of half life
and i play alot of pso
and i know how to create models, scripts and triggers, and worlds for half life using hammer and soft image, but i don't know how to code. I'm trying to maybe get a team together to help me out with this, and mainly i need a programmer
thought maybe someone here might be one and would want to help out
sweet! I would love to help. Tell me what you need and i might be able to help you out somehow.
the only problem would be finance and licensing

like, the servers need to be run, and that requires money, so you charge the customers a small fee just so you can maintain the servers
but nce cash enters the mix, it becomes copyright infringement.
Or does it?
