I was flipping around on google to find new rare finding theories, and I found one that said "maybe the total amount of time you've played and your exp total might have an effect". Perhaps the game schedules you to find rares, like once an hour for one minute or something and the higher your experience the better quality rares you get? Can anyone confirm a connection?
I've heard alot of rumors over the years, and yes I've heard the total hrs. played theory. It is my belief that this rumor just like all before it (i.e. Beat Time Myth, No piping Myth, Pick Up All Items Myth etc.) are all unfortunately speculation still awaiting solid proof. But when you think about it...do you think that sonic team would go that gung-ho on development to put in a program like that. I think that rare drops are always based on a predetermined algorythm that goes unchanged throughout the game, regardless of time played or lvl.

(Sorry for the complicated speech...thats just how it came out.) Big Grin
nope just a % chance
Its just a drop rate, nothing more, nothing less
Your just trying to find an impossible easy-way-out.
i also read somthing similar to this about getting rare monsters to appear. It said to make a Hildetorr have a higher chance of appearing look for it when the beat time is 666.
I have found the beat theory with the rare monsters worked quite well actually. No Hildeblues for an hour, the supposed beat period came up, and 1 appeared a minute later. Luck, coincidence? Probably coincidence...

As flickynick said, its just a drop rate. Nothing more affects the rare drops.
