i prefer defence. why?
because with my FOmar on ult forest and caves, with deband and Jellen in effect all but the biggest enemies (nano dragons, hiletorrs) cant do a thing to me, i just keep blocking!
( a high def must help towards blocking attacks otherwise i couldn't do what i just said :S )

i might have missed some thing but evasion is the perfect def if ur evasion is really high then you can take down any thing

Sure.
Mags cannot boost EVP (Evade Power), Mags only boost DFP, ATP, ATA and MST, via DEF, POW, DEX and MIND, respectively.

ohhh thanks but i'm trying to convince my brother that mags are really important but he won't believe me

I've always suspected that MAGs can drive a stat higher than the class cap... Kefka, am I wrong? XD
Anyway...
EVP for Hunters, DFP for Rangers, both for Forces. However, I only use Hunters, but these are the stats I'd try and improve for my RA and FO if I had any.
