So if I do split screen challenge, offline, I do get something? this is so confusing! and when do I get a prize? at the end of a level or after defeatinf dark falz? (sorry about going on about this, I just really want to know)

Yes, you do get a prize for beating Offline (Split-Screen) Challenge Mode. You get your prize (Be it either of the offline-only God's Shields or a Toy Weapon), at the end of 46 Areas on Challenge mode., whereupon the game totals up the times for each stage.

On a side note, how in the heck does the game manage to make 46 Areas?

Forest 1 - Dragon is 3.
Cave 1 - De Rol Le is 4.
Mine 1 - Vol Opt is 3, possibly 4 if the game counts Phase 2 of Vol Opt as a seperate area.
Ruin 1 - Dark Falz is 4-6, depending on whether or not you're forced to fight Dark Falz 3.

Also, can you choose which S-Rank/Fake S-Rank you get, or is it random?

umm those are split up into areas in the caves c2 is like 4-5 and you do get to chose

Stage 1 -- Area 1, 2 and 3 (Forest 1, Forest 2, and Dragon)
Stage 2 -- Area 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 (Cave 1)
Stage 3 -- Area 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 (Cave 2)
Stage 4 -- Area 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 (Cave 3 and De Rol Le)
Stage 5 -- Area 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 (Mine 1)
Stage 6 -- Area 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 (Mine 2 and Vol Opt)
Stage 7 -- Area 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35 (Ruins 1)
Stage 8 -- Area 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40 (Ruins 2)
