*sigh*
For a few nights this week I've been staying up late (1am - 2am 'ish) to try and work on my RPG post. Usually around that time I get tired and even though I'm tired I seem to able to describe better and am able to conjure up complex words/easily flowing sentances that make sense.
Maybe I'm trying too hard?
Sorry for not updating the My writting o_O thread. I do get annoyed with myself when I can't write. But can you recommend things I could do before I attempt to write so late?
I am learning Japanese, maybe revising some of that will do? Maybe you could even give me some pointers I've not heard of

Do like I do, do it in class when your board anyway.

he is right and staying up that late aint a good idea its bad for your self do what i do keep a note pad handy and think about it when ever u can then just jot down your ideas and type them up in your free time.
I would highly recommend a notepad like SD mentioned. It saves you the time of sitting in front of your computer thinking of ideas and in addition, speaking personally, I get my best ideas for writing not when I'm at home crunching my brain but rather when I'm at work or most notibly when I'm driving.
Another helpful tip would be to set your environment when writing. I know this sounds a little silly, but I learned about it my creative writing class and found that it works very well. Basically, when you're ready to sit down and write, set the mood of your room. If you're writing something like a horror story or a sad scene in a current story then dim or turn off the lights in your room and put on some music or a movie/anime(not to watch, but for use as background noise) that makes you feel sad or whatever emotion you need to write the scene well. I cannot tell you the extent to how well it works. For example, I was having trouble with an action scene I was writing in one of my stories, so following this technique I put on some metal music that I thought fit the attitude of the scene while I was writing. If this is any indicator, I WROTE FIVE PAGES WITHOUT STOPPING TO THINK AT ALL. I did about 40 minutes of writing without even realizing and it came out suprisingly well.
Well, I kind of started to ramble but I hope you get the idea. Just try it out next time you plan to write and see how well it works for you.
Grave - I can't do it in class really. I've got alot of work to do for college :S
SD28 - I've got a massive amount of pages with the story plan and ideas. It's just doing the finishing touch really! I've been working on ideas since January last year. But that's my fanfic, for this RPG it doesn't take me that long to think of how the scene flows.
Kisanzi - I don't stay up regular. Those times it's usually 2 or 3 times a week. Weekends were made to stay up late lol

About the mood. Yes I do happen to listen to music corrisponding to the scene I'm doing. I prefer to work with the lights off all the time but maybe I'll try lights on.

So do I.

When u have brakes during class. Really I was in my class when I posted the first time. U can still type and listen to the prof, just don't make it obveose. Meh thats whats works for me anyway.
Grave you naughty little boy you lol.
Ah don't stress out over the story, stressing make's things worse then you cannot accomplish anything. This applies to everything, working, playing games, having fun. You get angry at someone playing at a game cause your losing, your gonna loose even more then your gonna say things. If your not getting what you want in a game, either turn it off or think of it as another way, like if its pso and u want a rare, dont go for the rare just go for the exp you'll get from a run. For work, just take a moment to relax and get a clear head before you start again.
