I saw the movie "I, Robot" recently, a film based loosely on a book written by science fiction author Isaac Asimov. In case you're not familiar with Asimov's writing, here's a list of things the movie had in common with the book:
- The title.
I don't know why, but after the movie I came out of the theater wanting to buy a pair of Converse shoes (vintage 2004), have them delivered to my local FedEx station, drive my MV Augusta SPR motorcycle to pick them up, stop by the shop to have my new JVC CD player installed in my Audi, pick up a couple of Dos Equis on my way home, wash it down with an Ovaltine and then invest what money I have left into a mutual fund with Prudential Life Insurance.
I'd think this would better belong in the "Films" forum - it doesn't directly and all-out involve movies, but it contains movie content and the links between them and the books, so it should probably go in there, I think.
Yes I agree. Within the first five minutes, it had advertised JVC and (forgot name) shoes.
*Moved to Films*
It advertised the lovely Converse. FW kicks his favorite pair of stripey converse for emphasis.
lol, i have to admit I, Robot did have a lot of advertisement in it, although that didnt stop it from making it a geat film ^_^
Other films like it though... err... i cant think of them immediately, but i can think of films that take the mick outta advertisements! lol Anyone seen that Scary Movie 2 bit where they take the mick outta the advert for the sports brand by making music with squeeky shoes? HAHA that was awesome

I liked the bit with the kitty! MEOWMEOWMEOWMEOW!
In I, Robot? Haha yer the bit where hes running from that huge machine and he grabs the cat before diving outta the house avoiding the evil, just in time!
My favourite bit was when the car was being surrounded by all those robots, and at the end his car starts spinning around while the car voice system says "You are experiencing a Car Crash"... HAHAHA!
I hate it when companies try to brainwash you like that, it puts me off their product for trying to seduce me...
(Only word I can think of right now...

)
