i was checking who was online earlier and a google spider was on it so i checked the member lists but there was noone called google spider so what was it??

I think those people are search engines. They are re-indexing the site (re-indexing means they are updating this site into their search engine)

Not a virus, no. It's google updating it's cache of all these pages.

i was wondering how they worked that...
