I am a writer and an artist.I saw this thread and was intrigued. For drawing i use a manequin and a book i bought called The Idiots Guide to Drawing Manga. For writing i use a website called
http://com1.runboard.com/bthescribesmessageboardAlso,i'd like to know more about this clan,as i quite like the sound of it.
i'll ask some of my friends on devianart to have a look here if you like
Sounds like a plan.I have a couple of friends that are always doing drawings.I'll have a chat with them and see what they think.
erm might take longer than i thought as my deviantart friends aren't talking to me:|
Well, now that you mention dA, here's my site: welcome to the
Madhouse, everyone.
All my drawings are in scraps. So far, I've only put my good photos in my gallery.
I wouldn't really call Manga art, as if you go to any art instituition and have a portfolio with nothing else, they'll laugh you out of there and then some.
It's valid in Japan, not here/or Europe that I know of.
Yeah, this seems to be the trend.
Oh, well. If I was going to an art school, it would be for photography, anyways.
I don't see why manga is not classed as art.The people who draw it are called artists, and because of that, manga should be a form of art,as the only difference between manga and other forms of art is the amount of realism.
As far as i know manga is considered a form of art, most art schools etc won't teach it, yoou'd need to go into graphics more than art, as it is usually heavily CGed i'm sure a few places around where i am have courses in similar stuff.
I'm always drawing manga pictures though, either my own characters or other manga/anime characters.I even used a manga image i did in order to pass my art coursework.
