to me duping LEGIT items for the purpose of backup is fine i knew there are several weapons id dupe if i know how just because one of my memory cards has a crack in it that makes me paranoid as all hell

Makes sense, I totally agree. But some people reckon that gives you an unfair advantage over people who decide that they won't back up their items for some odd reason. I dont agree with that.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to FSOD yourself. I have Plus, so I can't dupe myself... I only have the opportunity to make backups when I play with others (who have non-plus versions). But the time I tried, I selected... erm, something I shouldn't have... and suddenly, FSOD. I didn't lose my items or anything on my card, fortunately. Now that I've read up on the glitch (you can find anything on the internet :ermm: ), I know what I did wrong (also learned the stacking glitch, although I don't plan to use it).

You just have to borrow somebody's non-Plus disc. I'm not sure if this applies to stacking... what I think we'd all really like is a character-duping glitch, one that can back up your whole card in case of total corruption... :ermm:

oh that would be a god send id have backups of all my chars and weapons right now and then i could play online and not care about getting corrupted either way.

I agree, but with some memory cards you can save/load your data to a computer, so it does exist to some degree.
But i don't like hackers though, some of them are just not good people while a few are good; but custom weapons (ones that hackers make) are really cool even though they unfairly own everything (seen some in action).
About stacking, like NetNomad I don't know how to stack but I would use it to max out on pipes (But I would keep the money so I can buy other stuff ).
About duping, Backup duping is fine, I do it all the time or to start up a new character. And i think sometimes duping to help out other players in tight spots or to dupe trade (both sides dupe an item and trade the dupe) is ok somewhat. But Duping just to dupe isn't great (like mass-duping a 300 dark BKB) is just wrong.
