Hey, off topic guys!

I dont listen to heavy metal really...but Im trying to find some Pantera and Metallica stuff, because Ive heard a bit of that, and its good.
By the way...I cant stand Slipknot. So dont try to tell me to listen to them!
Walk has been played a lot on the radio since Dime Bag Darrel died.........my dad was about two blocks away when it happened. He didn't even know Pantera was playing at the time........otherwise he would have went....
Teh EkwEE Wrote:I MADE this thread.......I know what heavy metal is...he said emo sucked.

Let's see if you really do know what heavy metal is. Oh and by the way, emo is overrated.

Teh EkwEE Wrote:Manson has great music videos though. And some of his stuff could be considered metal, most I consider to be punk/goth

Marilyn Manson is pathetic IMO.(and others aswell)

Teh EkwEE Wrote:'Freedom and Justice for all' is one of Metallicas best. Master of Puppets is also kick ass. Those were their pinnacle although most only know them for the 'Black Album'

It's "...and justice for all", not "freedom and justice for all". "Ride the Lightning" is probably Metallica's best effort.

Teh EkwEE Wrote:Don't forget Ozzy either both when he was in his band......wtf was his band called again? I can't remeber it.And when he went solo.

Omg, how could you not remember Black Sabbath? And when he went solo, technically he didn't really go solo, he just named the band after himself, which was Ozzy Osbourne.

Teh EkwEE Wrote:And Megadeath........they were on the verge of creating a new type of metal called 'Thrash' but they only made a few decent albums and disappeared.

First of all, it's Megadeth, not Megadeath. They were on the verge of creating thrash metal? Lol, that's one of the most outrageous things I've ever heard. Dave Mustaine is credited for inventing thrash metal. A few decent albums and disappeared? Do you really know who Megadeth is?

Teh EkwEE Wrote:Well remember Black Sabbath was late 70's, metal didn't get it's start until mid 80's.

Late 70's? Black Sabbath was late 60's. And metal started almost immediatley after Black Sabbath became popular, or well-known I should say.(alot of people considered them satanists)

Teh EkwEE Wrote:And Rammstein was not only German, but they sucked, and I don't like Death Metal much. I can listen to it. But Metal is always on the verge of going overboard. Too much screaming, too much guitar, too much bass, too many drums. Tis' a delicate balancing act. Death metal just goes over board.

Rammstein is not even close to death metal. Whoever calls Rammstein death metal must be shot. If screaming, powerful guitar riffs, too much bass, and too fast drums are overboard for you, I suggest you check out some doom metal bands, or perhaps some melodic black metal bands might do the trick.

Sorry for correcting all of that but I'm a huge metalhead and I can't stand it when people make so many huge mistakes like that, it kills me.

Oh and sorry for the bump.
wow boardemon, you sure know ur metal. anyway i like metallica and anti-flag and the vandals (which i think the vandals and ant-flag are a little more closer to punk) but anyway i like those bands.
Wow BoarDemon, thats a lot of knowledge there.

What the difference between Thrash Metal and normal metal, may I ask? I dont really know much about it...

Well, to tell you the truth, there is no such thing as normal metal. But thrash metal is basically a metallic version of punk. Much heavier, faster, and with various other metal elements.
Ooh, thrash metal sounds quite good. I really like punk music, so I might like this Thrash Metal.

I'll get a Megadeth CD from my friend, and then I'll see...
