With my force, I use rafoi, normal attack, gizonde, and then resta, gibarta, grants.
With my hunters, I use resta, normal attack, heavy attack, then anti, shifta/jellen, deband/zalure.
Mine usually is based around this:
B - Resta/***mate
A - Normal Attack
X - Heavy Attack
L+B - ***Fluid/Other item...
L+A - Support Tech (S/D/J/Z)
L+X - Special Attack

I for the R+Y quick menu, I have the Ra-techs at the top for Zelda, then the Simple-techs, then the Gi-techs, and at the very bottom I have the Support and Heal techs (Anti is very last, Ryuker right before it). The order of those can be very important for a Force depending on what's on the buttons. The other characters just have it in the default order.
I like to start off a combo with a normal hit, but often, there's stuff lying on the ground (my character will try to pick them up) knocks me off my timing (especially when there's lag) so I put normal attack on button A and the hard attack on button B.
I like the R+Y menu too. I also love the 10 extra shortcut buttons they give in Blue Burst.
