So, does anyone else here listen to JRock, that is Japanese Rock Music? This stuff is great! One examble is the group "The Pillows" who did the ending theme to Furi Kuri. Quite a few of them do music for anime titles as well. There's a band for every taste, some dark and into heavy metal, and others more lighthearted, and yes, even some ballad groups Big Grin

...I've just been on a JRock spree lately, trying to get more music, and I was just wondering if anyone else enjoyed listening to Japanese Rock as well.
I listen to whatever I can import, which isn't much right now. I'm currently enjoying L'arc En Ciel and Asian Kung Fu Revolution, both groups have awesome vocals and a sound that is different from anything over here in the US. I'm trying to get into more but it's so difficult finding out about JROCK bands and even harder to import a CD.
L'arc En Ciel?! Asian Kung Fu Generation!? (You did mean Generation right? Or is there another band with a similair name?)

....I have a new friend

hehe, if you like them, you should try and find some stuff by Garnet Crow, Gackt, Pierrot, or Plastic Tree. They have some upbeat but good music. Right now I'm leaning clsoer to stuff like Dir en Grey and XJapan, but I'll listen to anything I can get ahold of to see if I like it. The only JRock music I've seen around here in Texas is Utada Hikaru, and that's rarely ;_;
Oops...it is Asian Kung Fu Generation, I always seem to mix-up their name for some reason. But thanks for the suggestions because like I said, it's hard to find out new groups without actually living in Japan. I've heard Gackt and X Japan before and I liked what I heard but I haven't gotten a chance to get their CD's yet.

Isn't Utada Hikaru JPOP? If we're going there then I'd say that the best I've heard recently is TM Revolution or Move. Speaking of JPOP, the stateside releases of it are blasphemous. They only bring over the poppy, soft stuff and only if it was popular on a certain show.(With exception to TM Revolution) I wish they'd start widely releasing more JROCK and JPOP over here, I need more!
Yeah, Utada is JPOP. She has some pretty stuff though. I'm not too big into JPOPO though, give me the rock anyday! ^_^

...The only Japanese cd's I have are a few anime soundtracks I got off ebay. I have mp3's, and the bands I have music of I'm definately going to buy their albums...wish I could find more stuff by Pierrot though...I love them. I know that in June at A-kon the band DREAM will be there...they're more Pop....I wish Psycho le Cemu was coming back...that's good music lol
