I usually do that with my HUcast when i am looking for Al rappys, but then you find the thing that you want and you are left with tonnes of unnecessary telepipes leftover... you might aswell just bye them as you need them, you won't waste money that way!
most PSO players have waaay too much money so wasting 200-3000 isnt too bad.

yes it does.i have done it for a red handgun and it makes your chances of finding them alot.(1 player-59 pipes for mil lily,4 player-just 7![for demo comet]) and found a red item of all 7 mill's i found as p1

- you mag runs like Lassie back to Pioneer2
- the medics come down to Ragol, bring your body back up
- steal the money off your corpse
- clone you, unequip your weapon, and throw away the dead you
- then send the cloned you on your merry way saying that you must have had a rough time and be careful
