Gotien Wrote:10 days leave.
That soon?....... :| :'(
Might as well start up another goodbye thread now. Ah, but enjoy it while it lasts.
Well alright, when the time comes that you leave again - take care.
No offense but having a drill INSTRUCTOR(army has drill SERGEANTS and Rangers) for a day or two is nothing compared to 3 months, and the wear and tear on your body is unmeasurable. Worst of all is that at the end of the day you fall asleep in a squad bay(big room with 50-60 other guys), going home would make boot camp too easy. You have no contact with anyone that cares about you and the drill instructors make you feel less than dirt. Boot camp isn't comparable to anything, if you ask any Marine he will tell you it is completely unique, it is a part of your life that will never be forgotten for the hardships you go though.
So I have heard from other family memebers...
I wasn't trying to compare at all, I just said that I had a little bit of an idea of what you had to go through considering that our wrestling coach is a former marine and he puts us through a couple of the workouts every once in a while. Well, have fun while you're here and try and keep in touch.
Would you say it works Gotien?
I suppose however I just wanted it noted that boot camp is just as much mental as physical, training for a few days out of the week for a few hours is one thing, but training 3-7 days back to back from 6am to 5pm is another. :S Remembering that kind of thing makes my legs twitch...
hehe... you said mental...
I cant think whay you put yourself up for that... :S
Heh...you are a good man Gotien...
I am to lazy to do that..
I can only imagine. In wrestling we go for 3-4 hours a day every day of the week except for Sunday and I can only imagine what it would be like to do that every day all day. You have my admiration Gotien. I had trouble just getting through my "training" for 2 months. Your's is much longer for a longer period of time. Good luck in every thing you do outside the US and if you can I would love to have you keep us posted on what you do (so far as you can tell us).
Edit: Wait... what do you plan on doing in the Marines? If you already said it, sorry I must have missed it.
