There are MANY problems with the BETA of Blue Burst, but then again thats what the BETA test is for! Therefore if you do have any problems, either we'll try and help you, or post about it on Sonic Teams PSO: BB board if its a not-so common problem.

The main problem ive noticed is people not being able to enter any of their details into the game or type at all! If thats you, listen up, heres how you do it:
  • Go to: Control Panel
  • Click on the 'Languages' Tab
  • Click 'Details' under 'Text'
  • Add Japanese as another language
    [Image: psobbhelp_step2_thumb.jpg]
  • Save all settings by clicking 'Apply' then quit out of the menu's.
  • At this point, you should now have a language bar appearing in your screen/desktop, or the letters 'EN' or 'JP'.
  • Open Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst in Window Mode (Wont work in full screen mode - To activate in Window Mode, go to 'Options' when Blue Burst opens and check the 'Windows Mode' box, then save and quit).
  • Now when you open the 'Register Game ID and Password' Menu, click into the box, and hold down the left Alt & Shift keys on your keyboard.
  • Some Japanese text will appear on the screen to the left of the words 'Game ID'. You should now be able to enter text into the fields.
  • To enter text in the game, you will also have to press the Left Alt & Shift keys (Press twice) before you can type on the screen.

If you have a in-game problem, or cant use the techniques above, post here.
Does anyone know if the servers are down again? Although I successfully managed to patch and access the servers at around 1.00 pm (GMT) today, a friend of mine has tried to patch, and join, at around 2.00pm (GMT) and each time it returns a 903 connection error. Due to proximity we were able to swap cables, but still to no avail. Reading on the psobb.com boards, it seems that this 903 is fairly random in reason, but not uncommon in occurence.
I was playing online all afternoon until about 15 minutes ago. :S

Err... what connection do you have?
can i use a p3 500mgz with 128 ram with psobb
The connection is a LAN 1MB. It's strange as we sit next to each other and mine works fine, however he cannot even log on to get the patch, thus cannot advance. I told him just to leave it till tomorrow, or at least wait a couple of days until these things are 'ironed out'. Like I say, just seems a bit random. I guess my question was just to see if anyone knew whether (more specifically) the patch server had gone down, which I suppose it might have done. We'll try again tomorrow. In the meantime Happy Hunting! Myself, I've not had a problem. Many thanks!

If you are using a Router for your LAN connection, SEGA did warn that you may not be able to access the games servers and could encounter problems. This could be because Blue Burst on one computer is consuming the 1mb connection on one computer, leaving the second on the network, next to nothing, and not enough to connect to the servers properly. Try doing it at seperate times, or go into your Routers settings and see if theres anyway you can set a minimum connection speed, or something like that, that will guarantee both computers at least enough to connect to Blue Burst (256Kbps).
how easy is it to upgrade the pentuim 3 500 to 700
upgrading from pentium 3 500 - 700 wont really make a diffrence, and all it requires is to open up your pc case, find where the chip is, take the heat sink off, take the chip off, and then slide the new chip in, of course you have to make sure your motherboard supports the chip your putting in

Many thanks, Lee-Yoshi. We did try connecting at different times yesterday, for the same reasons you listed above. Oh well. We'll have another go again today see if it's any different. Failing that he'll have to go without :'( Meanwhile I must say that, once you've overcome the hurdles, I am enjoying this Beta very much. Thanks again for your input.
is there a faster way to download than 65 or so hours?
