Congrats on becoming a hunter. I mean, I've never liked rangers; they don't have to confrot any enemies. I do have a ranger, because I needed someone to use the crush bullet, wals, and guilty light I found.

Hmm, personally I prefer the Musashi. Sure, it's not as powerful as the Yamato, but the Berserk special is, IMHO, far better than the Yamato's freeze special - especially for bosses (just so long as you don't wind up getting killed because you're low on HP). Still, the Yamato is a good weapon, and more choice when it comes to weapons is never a bad thing, right?
I used my Musashi on my HUmar up 'till I found my Demo Comet, and speaking of that, if your ID can find it easily Ding dong (as in 1/2 chance off of Mil Lily in Ult Caves), that'd be a good weapon to find when you get to Ultimate.
i never used musashi on my hunter. i always just used big multihitting weapons like Partisans. I dont really like swords personally, but then again i dont have any good ones yet(like red sword). the Red Partisan solves all problems my hunter has but you get it in Ult. For weapons you can actually find, i would use Last Survivor. It is a good weapon that has 2 cool special abilities.
1.The HP steal special is good
2.+20 hp is even better
So ya i like swords but id much rather use partisans(like the Gae Bolg and Vajaya)
Getting a weapon for crowd control like a good sword or partisan is a good idea. You can switch between that and Musashi and use each one for different situations.
I would agree with Fabo that Last Survivor is a good sword (for Hard anyway), and the extra HP can be somewhat useful for taking on bosses with set damage attacks at low levels
What you really need is a weapon for crowds like a sword or partisan, a weapon for long range and a weapon for high damage like Sabers, double sabers or twin swords. My hunter uses a Red Sword for crowds, a an S-Rank Handgun for long range (He used to use a Red Handgun), and a BKB for high damage.
weapon for crowds- Red Partisan
weapon for 1 on 1- demo comet
as long as you use som'n other than the pathetic musashi's you'll be fine.
