As long as it doesn't delete ur characters/items it would be good.
And a way to prevent corruption.Maybe copying u'r game's data on online, but making a small copy of the file like the characters playing on a mem card from another mem card and using that copy for online. When u save, the game cheks it to see if all the changed data is composed of correct files. If they're alright,it saves. If they aren't,it doesn't save.
its inpossebol to pach gamecube games without doing something to the actshuol disc so thay wold have to recall.... and thay wold have to delete character files, other wise pepol wold dupe a ton then send it in or mabe get a extra disk so thay could dupe and trade it to a pached 1.
They can't put patchs on a gamecube because it has no spare hard drive for storing stuff.
Thats why they have memory cards.
It's part of Nintendo's lame management to make u buy their sh*t.

This is one of my concerns about this patch you speak of. It could easily intermix with our legit weps.Meaning I could have my weps dupped, but I could still have the original copy too, therfore possibly deleting all of them. Or we could face much much worse problems...
You wouldn't be able to edit the original PSO file.
What I mean is,the patch that SEGA could make(Again, they're lazy bastards)would be a patch which simply checks the files before saving game to see if they're correct. If they are, good. If they aren't,it doesn't save.
I had the idea for this patch, thinking mainly on preventing corruption.
As for duping all they need to do is make the NPC's stoped so people can't do the dupe glitch and the other cheats.
And then, they could make it necessary to play online.
And there. No more duping(Except for USB editing. That is hard to prevent)and corruption!

.... gosh went away for like 1 day and now look i missed 15 fricken posts.. u bastards! ok ok so legit is what i am if i have just played it with no retarted glitches right? well then why don't they get smart and ... erm.... track down the hackers!?!?! .. yea that would work... sega *cough* sucks *cough* ... i mean their awesome

its not that easy cuz thayed be traking down about half the players.
.... then they should come up with this program that signals the peeps that are duping/hacking and sends in a utility to their system and then that utility will lock all forms of that hack or dupe... lol sounds so simple i know

Your just the person I'm looking for! Ok make a patch for me that will somehow get put into a gamecube and do all the stuff you said.
