Naturally, considering I'm a staff member and moderator on Ragol.co.uk, I assume that my situation is the same for all members. The "situation" is that when I try to add an event to the calendar, and the like, I get the following forum message:

Quote:Double Edge, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
On another vB forum I used to visit, but not really anymore, member birthdays among other things showed up on the calendar. I was wondering if we could make our forum calendar more open to the forum public use? For instance, we could submit events, etc., and know when member birthdays are if they've chosen to disclose them. Anyways, it's just a suggestion.

Thanks!

Truly,
Double Edge
well theres a "public" and a "Private" calander. all member(i think) can go to the private one and submit events(heck DM has an event in there)
Oh yeah I guess that works. Either way, though, Public events cannot be submitted and I think that it would be cool if members could submit them.
Yes, but there's always the trouble with spam, what would they submit?
Their birthdates for all to see without having to go to each individual profile (also members could have the option of having their birthdates on the calendar only, rather than in their profile as well), and I'm sure other things too.

We could hand out warnings just like in posts.
