It was "technically" his own fault if you go running near a suspected bomb scene and the police tell you to stop THEN YOU BLEEDIN WELL STOP! He didn;t and look what happened to him? it makes perfect sense the police were just doing their duty
No way would the police would kill for PR, I agree with Serpent7 with that.
The problem now seems that he didn't run, he didn't jump the barrier, he wasn't shouted at by the police... He ran slightly to catch the train before it left, but I for one know I have done that many times myself. He wasn't wearing a big duffle-coat that could conceal bombs, apparantly just a normal denim jacket. I think it's a terrible mistake, but that's what it it's, a mistake, and the officers invovled were obviously be under immense pressure, what with the situation, they wanted to be sure. No doubt they may regret that now, and are deeply sorry.
I can't see where the previous reports of him running and everything came from. If the situation really was as described (him sitting on the train normally), I wonder why some of the eye-witnesses just made up stories...

That guy was living in England for five years with his family.
And any bomb would explode with a shot. I mean shoot a eletric or normal bomb to see what happens.
And I really see that information it's been controlled, you call him as "the guy" and don't even know his story.
And anyway, the cops did a wrong thing, the guy was innocent, that's all.
ok, they did a wrong thing but at the time they thought it was the right thing and bad luck mate, but personally i'd willingly kill one person to save a 100 lives. who doesnt is stupid, and so the cops were doing their best, sorry to the guy that got killed but wrong time wrong place and wrong visa.
p.s- not all blooody bombs explode with a shot!!!!! older explosives like tnt are set off by shocks, though the newer ones such as semtex and C4 (i know i know too much about these things
) won't explode except by a electric shock using a detonater (dont ask lol), and if you light them they also wont explode, they just burn like a bitch.
SangeYasha, not all bombs explode when shot. I remember hearing something about C4 that it won't explode even if set on fire - you need to use a primer for it. And then when you do detonate, it sends out a big blast and a shockwave that goes about 800 meters/sec. Things like nitroglycerin (sp?) will explode if you spill it. (it's a liquid)
Edit: jarl beat me to the post. But SY, you're still wrong. The cops shot the guy, and even if the guy didn't sprint when he saw them, it's still his fault because that guy never should have even been in the country. He was an illegal immigrant.

Ok, some bombs don't explode with a shot, but I think that the cops didn't have time to analyze the bomb, huh? I mean, they just shooted him. If he had a bomb that explode with a shot everyone near would be dead. So precautions first, even if he was a terrorist the right proceediment was to imobilize him and then judge him.
whats more crowded, the underground or a street? go figure.... also, humans are surprisingly resilient to explosion, most likely since its not an enclosed area on the street casualties would be minimal but when the blast is contained it becomes hundreds of times more potent as the force is reflected back like an echo.
He may had an atomic bomb on him that the cops would still shoot.
its just weird though running past armed police during a bomb scare? it makes you wonder if he was all there if know what i'm saying
