Sorry whiteninja, but I'm not sure of a site where you can get the emulators, but PSCave has a lot of information on the entire series. Just click on the Forge art in my signature for a link.

Not that I want to annoy everyone, but the game is set at least 3000 years into our future. Because of the storyline of Phantasy Star II, the Earthmen left earth, and built a huge supercomputer AI named Mother Brain. When we can get to that stage in technology, we can then wait about 3000 years for Red Ring Rico.

Note -
o 1000 years after the Earthmen create Mother Brain, Rolf and his party attacks it.
o 1000 years after that, PSIV occurs (PSIII is not easily placed in the series.)
o Because Falz revives every 1000 years, there must be at least one more before it came back...

Since the original series is the same storyline, to some extent, there is continuity proof that PSO is set that far into our future.

SilentShadow, that idea about technology causing a regression is good, but I'm still concerned that there are no traces of a civilisation on Ragol.
Yes starwars was in past sorry. And ty for that Forge.
Forge, you are indeed correct, it would be very unlikely for all traces to be destroyed. Also, if Falz revives every 1000 years, aren't we way overdue if we live on Ragol? Still, if this took place in OUR future, how did we learn to use magic, and why did we revert to using swords? We still have guns, why are there swords. To look cool?
I think that swords are used to facilitate the game - swords are easy to sort out in comparison to guns, especially for an RPG.

We cannot use magic - instead techniques are used. It was only the Espers who could use magic, as I believe was explained in PSIV.
I know nothing of the world of PSO outside of the basic story of episodes 1&2 for Xbox. On Xbox Live, techniques are refered to as spells. I have become used to this and it is now a bad habit.
The cool thing about Phantasy Star is that it still contains a lot of fantasy elements - dragons, swords, magic and the fantasy supervillians (in this case, the Profound Darkness and her many forms).
So true.
Profound Darkness? Sorry for sounding like a noob, but I am a noob when it comes to the story of PSO.
I say that it's our future. We completely wreck Earth and move to Coral. We then completely wreck Coral and go to Ragol. When will we learn? Tongue

P.S. My best guess is that the Profound Darkness is Dark Falz.
Yes, but Dark Falz is not a "she," but a sexless "entity." It is actualy a disease that infects the victim with "D-Cells," or so I've been told.
