Full Version: GameBoy Micro???

Earlier today, I saw the last second of a commercial, and it was advertising a "GameBoy Micro"... So, I google.com searched it, and I found out that there has been this tiny (2x4x0.68 inches) GameBoy that's been out on the market for nearly a week in the U.S. It seems as though it can't play GB or GBC games... just the GBA ones. (Which is still pretty cool.)

Has anyone else heard of it?

I've heard about it for awhile. It's a rip-off. Once again they're charging you for a new system even if it is a third rehash of one, and the only perk is a higher quality screen. It may be tiny, but a folded up GBA SP is still smaller. It is... a rip-off. Nuff said.

Also... *points to Handhelds section* ...bad whiteninja! Bad! This goes there! Tongue
Lol, I could have sworn someone made a thread about this already. Tongue

*Edit: http://ragol.warcrafttavern.com/forums/s...php?t=8424 there it is.
It's been extremely popular in Japan (see sales):

Hardware
01 - Game Boy Micro - 170,306 (NEW)
02 - Nintendo DS - 72,167 (1,698,283)
03 - PSP - 70,152 (1,285,371)
04 - PlayStation 2 - 24,396 (1,426,673)
05 - Game Boy Advance SP - 11,147 (525,704)
06 - GameCube - 1,882 (157,224)
07 - Game Boy Advance - 624 (19,539)
08 - Xbox - 109 (10,013)

Same as the past few weeks for the other consoles, only DS has gone done a bit, and PSP up, I believe.

I might get it when it gets cheap enough to be worth buying.
Ye I seen it its well bloody tiny Im thinkin of gettin 1 wen the price drops a bit
but do we really need another GBA?
It was designed for people who don't already own a gameboy - for more casual gamers to just put in their pocket and take out whenever. And why do people say it's a ripoff? It's not like anyone's forcing you to buy it. I know I'm not going to, even though I think it's a good idea. Just not for me.
Well, it looks cool. That's for certain. The price tag is high though and it may be too small for some big-handed people.

Whoops... I never really come down here, so I forgot about there being a specific handhelds section... and so I certainly didn't know about that thread there. Now that they've been released, though, has anyone actually bought one?

I love that. Waaaaaaayyyyy down there.
The Xbox has been way down there for a very long time. It was even worse, back when the Dreamcast still outsold it...
