Ok, my US copy of PSO+ has finally arrived and I've managed to find a Freeloader.

I brought PSO+ on import as I had been informed that I could use my PSO EU characters from my memory card on the US PSO+. But it seems like the card is not recognised as containing any characters despite not creating a system file when the Gamecube boots up.

Any suggestions or am I screwed?

Who informed you of that? I have never heard that. The only thing along those lines would be that if you have US PSO characters you can use them interchangably with US PSO+. So, it seems like you might be screwed. But then again, you might not be, I'm not sure.

If it so happens that you can't use your current characters but you really need to play PSO+, then you could transfer any of your important items to an online friend, make some PSO+ characters, and get the items back from that online friend, because you're not that high of a level, are you?

Why do you need to play PSO+ though? You have online mode, so there's really no need for it.
Memory cards will work on Nintendo Gamecubes worldwide alike all of their accessories because they aren't region encoded... but maybe the game saves are PAL encoded? :S

I'd ask SEGA! lol

Not just "lol". It's more of a LMFAOIROTFACFTPOLSDHHCTIF!
(laugh my f***ing a** off, I'm rolling on the floor and crying from the pain of laughing so d*** hard, holy crap that is funny)

But, it's worth a try. Sega usually gives the autoresponse when you report hackers, but with a question like this, they may bother with it.
Memory cards are formatted for a certain region gamecube, thus a US GC Save wont work on a JP or EU one.
It looks like the question has been answered now, but just to say, i got a reply from SEGA of Europe, which reads as below:

Quote:Thank you for contacting SEGA Europe.

Unfortunately we can only support the European version of PSO I and II, and we don't support the use a freeloader. I am afraid we won't be able to help with your enquiry.

Handy ^_^
Yep, my reply from SEGA was aa no-win situation as well. If I'm extremely lucky I might find a dodgy AR PSO website that can solve the problem, sadly it looks like the only things they can assist me in iare Trade Stealing, HL Stealing and FSODXing people - think I'll give those ones a miss along with duping, BA leveling and the majority of other cheats (Anti-FSOD codes might be used though).

Thanks anyway peeps, but I have now set up a USA HL account.
