I've read some cheats about duping weapons, armor, mags, items, etc... Is there a way I can tell if a "drop" from a player is an authentic or "duped" item?
I want to try and stay legit…

Not really. The best thing to do is just not take anything from someone unless you trust them. Of course look for the obvious dupes, uber rares, and insane percentages.

Look at the drop charts to determine rarity, and also the stars on the weapon. Never accept any 11 or 12 star items, anything rare with high hit, or high percents. Those are most likely hacks, or were boosted with duped Photon Drops. And trusting someone about rare stuff is NOT a nice thing to do, particularly if you hang around the hacker block on the US ships. Just because someone is a "friend" doesn't mean they don't have hacks. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone come into a game with a Tsumikiri J... when I asked them where they got it, they always reply "friend..." which usually amounts to nothing more than someone they met in the hacker block, played a game with them and was then given a truckload of hacks.

What does this mean? Which US Ship and Blocks should I avoid?

Usually one of the four ships has the most people in it. And within that ship is one block that has way more people in it. It's the "US popular" block, which really only means you'll find the majority of FSODers and hack-givers in there. It's just "the place that should be avoided", really.

Duped items r exact duplicates so there is no way to tell.

Theres only one way, if it is anounced that, for example a dls is being duped with 25% hit and 5% dark, and if someone tries to trade it to you, its most likely gonna be duped. If not, there is a 1/100% chance that its just a quincadence (spelling) that it has the same %s

Well, I should definitely add not to accept any S-Ranks (those would be in red text with the description, "a mysterious weapon. its abilities are unknown). Not only is an S-Rank that someone hands out 99% certainly duped/hacked, but IMO you should earn or trade for your own S-Rank weapons, especially since when you make one you can put your name on it.

- If it has % in more that 3 areas
- If any % is over 100
- If it has any % that is even near 100 (no one sane will trade a legit weapon with a 100% in any area)
- If it is 12 stars, or 11 stars
- If it'd be a pain in the arse to hunt
- If the trade seemed like it greatly favored you
- If you got it for free and it isn't a 9-star
- If the guy you got it from is using a SJS, TJS, Double Cannon, Heaven's Punisher, Psycho Wand, NUG 2k, Guld Milla, Dancing Hitogata it is almost assuredly a dupe
- If the guy you got if from is using a Red Ring, Dark Flow/Meteor/Bridge it is even more assuredly a dupe
- If the guy you got if from is level 200 it is almost assuredly a dupe
- If the guy using it was doing insane damage, or if he was using techs that he shouldn't be able to (Humar with Grants, Racast with Zonde; yes, some androids hack techs...)
- If you got it in a hacker block (Like Vega 1, or Antares 8, which funnily enough is PSOW's official block )
- If it is an S-Rank with any %'s

The only way to know that it isn't a dupe for sure is to actually see it dropped from the enemy and trade with the guy on the spot. Other than that, you just have to trade with people you trust... many trustworthy people can be found here, by the way.

I'd disagree with you on 2 points, whiteninja. There ARE lv200 legit players, and there ARE people with legit Double Cannons/SJSes/Nugs/etc... I have a legit Double Cannon, and aspire to find a Nug in the future. I will also have at least one lv200 character...
