is this possible?
i have an RJ-45, and im with BTBroadband.
Also im on a wireless router connection..dont kow if that makes a difference or not..
Any help would be great!

You can connect through your wireless network if you get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009X...s&v=glance
or you could get another NIC and get a crossover cable and use ICS

wow...the price is just a little steep there, lol.

oh well, ill have to keep runnning searches for now i guess..

just get something like that and a crossover cable long enough to reach your comp, then enable ICS and you should be able to get online

yeah, i have the ethernet board, i just dont want a cable running all over the house to get to my router, (i keep my gc and pc upstairs, and my router is in the living room), but if all else fails, i guess ill have no options..

That wont exactly be neccesary. All you need is to connect the GC to the PC, as long as the pc has access then it should work

At most u'll need an ethernet cable and a wirelessPC card

Lol! Azekiel, what Phantom_RAcast is trying to say which i'm not sure you're following is that your PC and GC can connect up to share your PC's internet connection by plugging one another by means of a LAN cable (See the other thread i've talked about doing this in!). When your GC is plugged into your PC, enable Internet Connection Sharing in 'My Network Places' and bob's your uncle!

hm, i feel a bit daft now..lol!
well, i enabled the ICS option, and was almost instantly disconnected from my wireless network, after restarting my PC i was still unable to connect, however, my GC wouldn't connect, due to the fact that i appear to have the incorrect cable. which sucks. thanks for the help guys, i will proceed to pur-chase the correct cable as of now! thanks for all the help. possibly see you out and about on GC/PSOBB?? char names on BB are Azekiel, Rayvern and Yazra'h.

double posting is naughty, i know..but they are more than a day apart, so i guess its OK.

ok, i bought and hooked up my shiny new rj-45 cable to my GC and my PC, but when trying to connect to the HL page kindly informed that i still had the wrong cable? vair vair annoying.

any possibly thing i could be missing out here?
-my gc and pc are connected via the rj-45 cable
-my pc has ICS active
-my pc is connected to the net
-my gc is turned on and trying to connect to the homepage
