Do any of your parents play games like us kiddies 'cos my dad does and it's really cool because he's more laid back and a lot less naggier than the average dad. Also our family (dnd arrogantelf and me) have an occasional 3 player through CCA or temple ulti. It's really cool, if you're an adult who playes PSO then 'Good on you!!'
ive known an adult player sor quite a while now (since DC days) and she's a blast to play with, she's one of the mods on the psobb forums, momonpso, great fun to play with.

i wish my parents would do that... i tried to introduce my mum to a game, well, it didnt work

and my dad would moan that there too much lkilling :S
People do moan on about the violence levels in video games. I find this for the most part ridiculous, vid games get blamed for anti-social behaviour blah blah yawn, imo. Try sorting out the family environment for a start. Kids learn how to treat and respect other people in their own homes firstly. Imo, domestic violence breeds violence in children not video games. 99.9% of kids use vid games for the fun and fantasy that they are. There will always be a small minority of kids and adults that are "un-hinged" no matter what they have been exposed to.
I say all this because i am a parent who is happy to let his kids play 15 and 18 games and watch said movies too, within reason with movies ahem lol, and yes i play Pso loads and lots of other games too.
*grumbles cause my kids completed resi 4 before i did, and ToS and skies of arcadia, ahhhh runs as list grows*
My dad does, he sticks to the old consoles and stuff like the megadrive, can't handle anything with more than 8 directions

(forced him on to play a halo2 deathmatch once...)
oh and my baby brothers great at mario! i got the nes classic one on GBA and he can get all the way to the 3rd part of the 1st level now! (1-3)
max, baby bro Wrote:I squished the boobee wicky!
(says that when he jumps on the goombas!) and wicky = ricky = me
EDIT: i just saw him get past 1-3 without getting hit, nearly better than i am!
i'm technically adult.
my r-mom plays occasionally. and she likes to watch others playing videogames. i mean, she doesnt look at the player but the game.
My dad plays video games all the time - mostly MMORPGs (he plays WoW right now) but he also plays console games quite a lot (4-player shooters with him, my brother and stepbrother are always fun). Oh yeah, and he also played PSO for a bit - he got to like lvl60 in a few weeks. :O
Redhead and I are also parents who play console/pc/handheld games. We both have PSO characters over level 100 and have indulged in many other games. Unlike Arrogantelf, we don't let our kids play or watch what they want but this is because we view that they arn't ready to watch or play violent products yet without them deciding to act out the most violent scenes on each other - but having said that, my sister-in-law has a 16 year old son who has been playing/watching whatever he wants since about 12, but he is the mellowest teenager I've ever met.
I agree with Arrogantelf, children are more likely to have personal issues starting from home or personal enviroment issues (i.e. bullying at school). However I do despair at the parents who leave their childrens social education solely upto Television and games; as parents we have to be a part of our kids lives even when they start treating us as uncool old hasbeens.

lets face it, its probably the parents fault there. i love parents that are willing to give stuff a go, my friends parents will quite often give him a game on sonic, nothing too complex, and my mum will play the DS as long as it uses the touch screen (she can handle that

) but my dad is a bit of a moaner, and, well, just no. im thinking of trying my mum on metroid, since that is quite touch-screeny. id love it for my parents to play pso, but alas, i doubt that will ever happen.
My dad plays Tetris, and on very rare occasions, Duck Hunt. He is
awesome at both... that is all the plays though.
He dislikes PSO, even though he never played it; he thinks I spend too much time on it. (I do!

)
