Two words why FOmars melee online instead of pure cast, damage cancel. Besides, like others have stated already, online FOmars can deal more damage meleeing[especially in ult], than casting. With my Vises and/or Angry fist, my FOmar can deal out 1000+ damge, way more than I can deal using my techniques. It's all about mat distribution and mag stats. My FOmar's ata and power aren't even maxed either. Besides, I want a challenge and be able to cast whenever I want to with one of the male characters. I also prefer Gi-techs over RA, that's why I chose to make my melee FOmar. A melee FOmar just happens to suit my taste more so than any other class.

Just because someone expects all Forces to support or nuke does not mean that everyone has to. Am I wrong for making my support RAmarl (Chrysothemis, my Pirate Cleric, currently Lv7)? Or do I just choose to play the game like I want to?
A melee FOmar does not drain it's TP as fast, and can be very useful for soloing.

and why is everyone talking bout angry fist? o _ o. i used to have one with 30 hit but put in for team points. i always use my red saber. is that better than angry fist?
my main character is a fomar and at the moment, in ultimate, he's used mostly as melee. i also have a hucast that's about 20 levels lower than him and her attacks are almost as strong as his, so i understand the logic behind "why use a fomar then?"
but it's simple. a fomar still has many other options. i can still use techs, including grants and megid. and that's how i initially made my way through ultimate. non stop teching. but now that he's gotten to higher levels, he can melee his way through with ease.
it was all for a challenge, however. for the most part, it's not about "he's better". it's because it's just fun this way.
as far as the angry fist, i've found multiple angry fists. and all of them are stored away. i prefer my red saber, agito, grass assassin sabers, soul eater.. bla bla .. all of these over it. it's powerful but slow and designed for such close range that i might as well give a bartle a big hug.
with s/d and j/z my FOmar can make his way through ult forest and most of caves without losing any hp, so why not get stuck in if they can't hurt you!
Going solo, FOmar does the 2nd most damage. HUnewearl the 1st. How so you ask? Well here:

Though FOmar has considerably low HP, DFP, and ATA... his combination of techniques with his wide variety of weapon selection (as far as forces go) and the outstanding ATP of 1002 (for a force) makes him excellent for melee combat... except the lowest ATA of 163... thus you need hit% on most weapons, making FOmar extremely hard to use. And if melee fails, you can cast. Bring 2 sets of equipment, melee and cast. Pow/Dex mag and Mind mag, when casting calls, switch... it's hard ...but then again, the harder, the funner for most.
Solo, RAmarl is the most damaging, Lv 20/S/D/J/Z + 241 ATA = lol, win. Not even mentioning Rangers' stupid array of killer weaponry.
Learn to include everything, a HUnewearl will never outdamage a RAmarl, let alobne a FOmar.
And if your FOmar deals 250 damage with techs online, Sebastian, it's because you're in Forest.
My 1750 MST FOnewearl with Psycho Wand does not deal 250 MST in online Ruins.
And 250-300 damage to all monsters = Damage Cancel.
I also think you are just bad at meleeing a FOmar, my melee FOmar does really great on GC, and he's only Lv 156.
Soul Banish is not really rare on Skyly ;s
i figured i would be good with melee fomar because i been using n00bmar since gc but its too much work -_-.

i still dont get it though online i only do 400 with support meleeing (forest lolz) and all the rest of the peeps like hucasts and humars are doing like 800... ;_; i feel weak.

Question one. Seb, do you enjoy playing as your FOmar? If so, play as him. This is a game to have fun with.
Question two. Can you get your hands on either a Soul Eater or an Elysion? These are acceptable (and what I currently use). Double Saber and /Battle units are also nasty. And a fully grinded rare mechgun may help.
Question three. Why don't you just support online? If you J/Z everything, you still gain the EXP, and stay out of damage range! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha...
When you have a load of freinds the point of being a melee force sort of drifts away, there's just no need. You won't be able to do as much damage once you've given out s/d.
Online a Force aids and nukes. Single or with other forces only, you get to have some fun.
my fomar can deal out some pwnage with my l and k 14 combats with 30,35,0,0,20 in forest with level30 suport techs i can almost kill a berble in one combo(then i just rafioe to start or end it) and he is only level104 with (500 base atp and 976 base mst) when i was leveling him up everyone was saying "your fomar is **** and rubbish" now they are say "thats quite good".
