I've started a couple new chars. that I want to be absolutely sure they're strictly legit. Brings up the question of giving items that other chars have found to them. how much difference is there between getting a duped iem and "handing one down" from another char?
Basically you will get the items earlier than you normally would, sometimes sustantially earlier. If you give the new char a dex mag from another char it'll be able to use items earlier, too. Then, when you find an item that you've already given to your char it means nothing.
How much difference do you see between receiving a duped item and hand downs?
No difference. It's actually good to boost a char. with items from another char.,but no dupes.

Tell me more, how can there be no difference but one be good and the other be unacceptable?
I'm not trying to be a butthead, just trying to solidify my own thoughts.
PS did we walk by each other last night on D-4 or D-6?
I totally go for hand me downs. I "tweaked" (as its commonly called) my force quite a lot. Tech discs, mats, mags, weapons. But I had acquired all of the hand me downs legitamently. As long as the items you use on new chars are legit, I don't see the problem. Some people say it's too easy that way then, or it's just wrong. Why? You haven't cheated in anyway.
Ive tweaked al my Chars in some way or form, It looks like all the weapons are Duped but they r off 1 of my other chars

. SO dont panic this is perfectly normal and it isnt cheating in anyway.
Okay, so it's alright; What's the difference, then, between duping and hand me downs? What more does duping do that we all ( or some of us criticise? Do you see my quandry?
Oh god here we go again

.
Tweaking or Passing down items is fine as you do not make 2 or more items out of this prossess. But duping is totaly different, you do a prossess of exploitin the games code to manipulate or duplicate items, This is:
 NOT ALOWED!
I like doing that
The NOT ALOWED! looks good.
Good point, rules should be followed. It's also been brought to my attention from a solid gamer that hand me downs are items earned in the game, duping is counterfeiting.
One last related question. Besides being Illegal how does duping ruin the game?
You want a Orichigato (I know I've spelt it wrong. Thing is it's very rare)?? Go to any game on a popular block and ask to see if someone has one. I bet someone has one. The thing, that item WAS very rare. Now virtually every Tom, Dick and Harry has one. It's now totally worthless to a proper PSO player as everything the game stands for has come down around their heads.
It devalues every item to a proper PSO player.
