Interesting fact about the mags, I noticed it a whiled ago studying RS (religious studies) A-level. I wonder what the photon blasts are named after, because that's bound to be something.
I think they are named so after the ancient lords that ruled various lands of the world many,many years ago.

This is a bit like how in halo the master cheif is of a class of warriors known as "spartans." Sparta was a greek city-state that had the best military ground force in the world, but they were eventually destroyed by Athen's navy, which was the best in the world. in the context of halo, I wonder who Athens are... (The covenant just doesn't seem right...)

To get back on topic, some of the weapon names are a bit odd, such as the Kaladbolg, Gae Bolg, and Vjaya, to name a few. Are these just random, or do they mean something? Meseta is also a somewhat odd name too...
