Well basically life is about survival. People in general want to live as long as possible since death is inevitable they reproduce just like all living creatures in hope to continue there genetic line. But that is just from my prospective at this present time but ask me or for that matter anyone else and you'll get a different answer everytime.
Make babies? Bah, I defy that logic. I'd rather be free from raising a little brat.
there are plenty of reasons, one of them (if you beleive in this sort of thing) is to acheive afterlife
