being as I'm having the same exact problem as you, what I'm going to do is get a few more level ups till I can use a decent gun (Raygun or Varista, gonna go up to 110 ATA to get varista after using Raygun at 109), getting a good barrier or sheild with good resistance (mine is a Sacred Guard) and finding as many scape dolls as humanly possible.
Dragon HP are your friends this early on

Hmm...i find that Scapes,and Materials seem to come a lot easier on Normal difficulty setting than anywhere else.Same with Grinders.Best bet would be to get yourself a Varista,(if it gets Dark%,then be proud)grind it,and take the fight to him.I'm currently on Normal Ruins with a level 29 RAcaseal,with whom just managed to be able to use Varista,so now she owns everything.
