Yes it is. in a nutshell, challenge mode is where you (and upto three friends - you cant do it alone!) are all reduced to the same/similar level with specific items/MAGs. The challenge is to use those to complete the level without anyone dieing completely!
The faster the time you complete all the Challenge levels (You must do them in order!), the better the special rank weapon/otherwise you're rewarded with!
