The people in poineer 1 and 2 both came from coral so no, if anything coral must be like earth. But earth is earth and coral is coral.

I think the idea behind the Phantasy Star series was to have a fantasy/sci-fi game that DIDN'T take place on earth.
Besides, the view out of the lobby windows says Ragol has around three moons. That's a dead giveaway there, buddy.

no ragol is not earth but it is very similiar.
if you see the movie about the story (ep1) you will see a continent that is very similiar.
