are you kidding? Paine is the hottest. First time through the game i loved it, but once i got the perfect ending, i realized how crappy the game is. Its one of the worst FFs overall (coming from someone whos played and beaten them all, you can trust my opinion). The fact that its all girls is part of what makes it bad (that and they just killed Yuna and Rikkus character, they changed Yuna from being a reserved girl who was sweet to this loud, boisterous girl and Rikku somehow lost aobut 50IQ so shes incredibly dumb, ditsy, and slutty...and she used to be my favorite :'( ). Then Paine is just there in a sad attempt to replace Auron (which can never happen because that man is god). Shes cool but, they tried to make her too badass like Auron and it doesnt work on a girl...not the way he was anyway. The story is incredibly weak (and other than finishing the main story from FF10, its got nothing in this department). The battle system is kinda cool but they even took out the traditional victory fanfare (the one that played every time you beat a battle: DA DA DADA DA DA DA DADA lol). So overall, no its not that great, just find someone who has it and see the 100% ending so you can know how the story ends and save your $50.

The best thing Square-Enix has done so far is Kingdom Hearts. Crystal Chronicles is horrible, and the whole turn-based thing that the rest have is getting really old really quick. At the time of this post, I have sold every Final Fantasy game I owned, save for a copy of the original for the NES. I can't wait until Kingdom Hearts II comes out. Then I can get my action-rpg fix once again!

True, Squaresoft and Disney created Kingdom Hearts. However, that does not change the fact that the Final Fantasy series is in dire need of some new material. It is the exact same thing over and over. The only difference being a new leveling or magic system, and characters. It is still the same old crap with every new addition. I'm not even going to mention what I think of FFX-2. I will say, however, that Drakengard is a decent game. Sure, it just stole what Dynasty Warriors has been doing for several years now, but that's not the point. Well, yes it is. It's a shame that a company that used to be the best in it's field is slowly turning it's best product into a stereotypical, cookie-cutter RPG devoid of any true improvements.

well, thats one opinion. I like the series, i like that fact that it doesnt change (actually, youre wrong, it does change, with the 3 newest releases, its taken a terrible turn for the worse because its veering from the classics).

I will say one good thing about Final Fantasy. Squaresoft, Square-Enix, they can tell one heck of a story. If you don't mind the constant random battles with little interaction between awesome story elements then Final Fantasy is a great story. I think the biggest thing that gets me about Final Fantasy is the random turn-based battles. Kingdom Hearts had an awesome battle system! Why didn't FFX-2 and FFXI take after that game? I tell you, I've never played a more exciting game than Kingdom Hearts. It even beats PSO. But, truth be told, the FInal Fantasy series does have the greatest cinema sequences of any series, no, any game, on any system. I will give them that. If only they could get away from the boring battle system. Let ME fight for once.
