PSU - First impressions - Shifty - 25-11-2006
its a little slow to start with, ethan is annoying, the game looks lovely.
the start of story mode on the linear line makes me feel like im playing pso in the ruins lol.
controls feel a little complicated at first but im fine with them now, and has the 1...2...3... button combo gone? how you used to attack on pso, i just hammered the X button on xbox and it was hitting away.

Same here. Just keep pounding the square button and I keep slashing away. At the end maybe hit triangle for a photon art.

There's still a 1, 2, 3 combo system... but now you just don't need to time it like you used to in PSO... this is good because I find your weapon slows down a bit when you hit an enemy, causing the timing to be thrown off. Also... use Photon Arts more often, they're godly. XD

They just make everything easier is all. Especially the ones that send enemies flying. It allows you to take them on at your own pace by bonking them away for a period of time. XD

I haven't played a whole lot at all really, I reckon it was a bad idea buying GoW on the same day
Anyway, I really dislike Ethan's voice and so far Ive played for about 5 mins and watched about 30 mins of cutscenes - I thought this was PSU not MGS
I still need to play alot more yet and once I get online I know I'll be right at home again

Level 11-12 now. My character is called Adrastos.
So anyway, this online bizzle is pretty awesome. I hate the lag though, oh my god something must be done. However I seem to recall WoW was like that at first, also. I know for a fact FFXI was (in towns). In a party the lag is less.
I didn't find Ethans voice that bad - what were you guys expecting from his appearance? Some rapper or a grizzly bear!?
Hal... No one ever speak of Hal... EVER. More annoying than Elly.
