Well if you chose to, you could always take a few levels off of your MAG's DEF, and put it towards your MIND. It's up to you. =)

What kind of mag you raise, IMO, depends on what type of player you are. If you're using techs often, raise a mind mag. If you want to be able to hit often at lower levels, (along with using guns) raise dex. If you want to be able to equip things like gladius's at level 5 or so, raise power. I know that on my HUmar I raised mind, so that he could use higher level techs faster. On my HUcast however, I raised dex, so that he would be able to hit decently early on. It's all up to you, in the end.
