Best fantasy book series - Mirinee - 19-11-2004 I just found out that tenth book doesn't end the series. There're fans waiting for the big finale. Maybe I'll wait until you've read all 10 books, and by then if you still love them as much as you seem to right now, I'll read them all too, including the prequel. Best fantasy book series - Shade - 19-11-2004 For me it's either the Darren Shan series, or Sabrial, Lirial and Abhorsen series... They all rock! Best fantasy book series - Orphen - 20-11-2004 My personal most favorite fantasy series is Majutsushi Orphen, and I guess in terms of single books would be this book I read just recently called Seraphim. Best fantasy book series - Serpent7 - 20-11-2004 I don't actually read much (except programming books), so my choice is more of a child's book, but I really liked the His Dark Materials trilogy. Not sure if this counts as fantasy either, but there you go. (One thing that strikes me about this thread is that everyone types properly...) Best fantasy book series - Double Edge - 20-11-2004 I very mcuh enjoy the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, as well as the LotR trilogy and other assorted books by Tolkien. Best fantasy book series - Mirinee - 20-11-2004 I forgot all about His Dark Materials books :$. They were really good too, except that that's just about all I seem to remember about them! That was the one where they had those mag-like things, right? And you weren't allowed to touch someone else's without having the owner feel immense pain and discomfort. LOL. Best fantasy book series - Serpent7 - 20-11-2004 Ah, the Redwall series, now that WAS good. VERY good. Best fantasy book series - Double Edge - 20-11-2004 Ah Serpent7, you like Redwall? Finally, somebody who shares my Redwall interests.

I never really found anything all that appealing in the LOTR series, other than the fact that the books dragged along quite alot.. Best fantasy book series - Double Edge - 21-11-2004 Well I've always thought that reading LotR involves good understanding of a broad range of vocabulary, as well as the patience to understand all of the terms and wording used. |
