Gamecube=Dead - Lee-yoshi - 28-11-2004 Uh-Oh... mines going in the same direction?!?! :S It doesnt start reading some discs the first time theyre put in, but its not too bad. I just hope it lasts for a little while to come! Gamecube=Dead - Zen - 29-11-2004 It sounds like it is a Laser Issue (But What I say is not "Set in Stone" its just imo). But keep it going, It might have a Chance of Living! ![]() EDIT: It Doesnt Start to read it the first time... Erm, Sorry to say this, but mine started to do that too.. :S Gamecube=Dead - Lee-yoshi - 29-11-2004 A couple of times recently its taken me to the Gamecube screen instead of to the game when first turning it on Its what happens with overuse i guess! It will continue to live to die another day!"Ah my poor Gamecube, time will fix you" *hugs* "Now lets play some PSO!" *Dances with Nintendo Gamecube*
Gamecube=Dead - flickynick - 29-11-2004 My first Gamecube died and it was a purple one :'( Now I have the black one and I like the purple so much more :| Gamecube=Dead - Zen - 29-11-2004 My Dead Gamecube is Purple, and was my first ... :'( But now I am happily waiting to get a new Shiny Gamecube! <_<;; Gamecube=Dead - Double Edge - 30-11-2004 flickynick Wrote:My first Gamecube died Pfft, Jet Black pwnzors. My GCN is in tip-top shape at the moment. No serious errors yet, it hasn't read the disc maybe 4-5 times in all the years I've had it, but that's normal. Gamecube=Dead - Judgment - 30-11-2004 Ive had mine since it came out and it still works fine. Its been thrown across the froom more than once, been pulled off the shelf and it has a huge chip on one of the top corners but is still going strong. Only had about errors on it before and 3 of those were on pso Gamecube=Dead - Double Edge - 30-11-2004 I do not recall having any errors on any games besides PSO actually. Strange.. Gamecube=Dead - Anti Hacker - 30-11-2004 I had a freind who had a GC and it did the exact same thing. a while before it just wouldnt read the disc at all, you couldnt hear the disc spinning. It turns out it was a laser issue. GC's do this quite a lot, not as reliable as the other consoles it seems. It wasnt that the laser was dirty, actually. when my freind accidentally nutted his GC (dont ask why anyone would headbutt their GC, i just dont know ), these symptoms started to occur. So, we wheeled out our standard issue technical mumbo jumbo man (who goes by the name of panda in the gaming industry). We took apart the GC and found out the laser had been knocked out of position. it wasnt starting to read the disc where it was supposed to. A few minutes later with a bit of minor re adjusting to the laser, the GC was fine. I would try this instead of giving money away for something you can do yourself. Be careful what you touch in your GC if you take it apart, keep it clean. Take out the power children, and make sure its not covered in static! (If it is you should sacrefice yourself for your GC, remember, it hasnt led as full a life as you )
Gamecube=Dead - Lee-yoshi - 30-11-2004 LMAO Id say Gamecubes are one of the most reliable consoles as my mate with a PS2 and Xbox has encountered several problems with both of them. PS2's are easily the least reliable console currently on the market as theyll have disc reading errors probabily about 1 year down the line! :S Xboxes though id say were about the same as NGC's. Everythings combustable! Some just take longer then others ![]() I doubt ill try repairing mine though if it does continue erroring, as its only momentarily atm ^_^ still lots of gaming left in the old man
