XDDDDD Nice picture upload once again, Cooldude. However, I believe the suffixes were indeed used for this reason. The only thing I personally can understand is Viridia, as Viridian is a greenish colour, but in all reality I believe they kinda came off the top of one's head.

sometimes, they just see something and decide to incorperate it or use it in a game. Maybe one of the Sonic Team member's children was colouring something and he/she got the idea

Crayon colors?! Must be one of those super-jumbo boxes to have virid in it. If thats the truth...then we give the developers of PSO waaaayyyy to much credit. It's not that this is that important of a question, but I just thought the surnames, and maybe even the symbols, had a deeper meaning. Too bad I'm not fluent in every language on Earth or I might be closer to figuring this out.
