I got the MAG colour I wanted.
The MAG colours
-- for the non-special costumes (i.e. not the last two of each row) are always fixed.
-- for the special costumes are random, and includes the four new colours.
-- never depends on Section ID. (Don't know why I thought it did).
Is that right?
I thought that the newly found mags depends on what costume your character is wearing at the time when you first equip the MAG. I have PSO without + and the new mag assumed the colour of my current (non-special) costume, and not grey.
I don't think you can get dark green by using a non-rare green costume. You can only get a light green and greyish green.

I always thought that it was dependent on clothing, i usually wear lightblue clothing, and i have a blue lighted Varaha, and My Orange Clother Character gained an orange lighted Varaha,
I think that this is the way that it is decided, Unless it is random and that was just a coincedence!

There are 18 colours.
2 per costume 1 - 7 => 14
4 that you can only have using costumes 8 or 9 => 18
