POpulous the beginning is a strategy game. If you're not quick in thinking you'll end up being dead in the later levels!
You control the Shaman of your tribe who has guessing 19 spells, they are:
Fireball, convert, bee swarm, lightning, invisiblity, landbridge, hypnotize, flatten land, poisen swamp, tornado, firestorm, sink land, earthquake, magical sheild, bloodlust, Volcano and angel of death.
You can shape the land using some spells. You can have a max of 200 followers who can be trained into Preachers, firewarriros, spies and warriors.
Attack from land, air or sea.

Oh, you can get this on Playstation or PC. But the PSX version has it's downsides:
1: GRaphics obviously lessen, meaning the spirites are less clear.
2: I think this only occurs if your disc is scratched a bit - Sometimes the game stops and starts which can be a disaster if you're under attack. This effect can last for a very long time. I think this is a problem since the PSX can't really handle the action that goes on sometimes.
Just get the PC version! You can get it for under £5. There is multiplayer but I can't get the dam thing to work!

It was a great game back in it's time
I doubt you will be able to get it without illegal downloading because it is SUPER old.
