Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Towi Wakka - 24-08-2005 Yes Legato2471, Xbox and PS2 have more power in some areas. As for the graphics card Gamecube has, you are wrong. Unfortunately, many games don't utilize that power. Some games that do however are Super Smash Bros Melee, Metroid Prime 1&2, Soul Calibur, Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Luigi's Mansion, and a handful more. Hopefully the new releases will do so. Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Legato2471 - 24-08-2005 Towi Wakka Wrote:Yes Legato2471, Xbox and PS2 have more power in some areas. Hopefully the new releases will do so. And that is Nintendo's weakness. A handful a games is not enough. With such a limited selection of truely good games, as I said before, the price of the game has to stay up while the console price suffers. If they made more good games in which control and graphics were used in a balanced way, then Nintendo would stand a chance in the console race. However because of the way they market and do business they don't have much of a chance Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Faulkie - 24-08-2005 Quote:Basically what I've been trying to say is that Sony and Microsoft put themselves out there and do a lot of different things, which had lead to great success. Nintendo however, has sat back and done their own thing which obviously did not work out too well for them.:O How can you say that when Xbox and PS2 feed people the same old stuff over and over again (especially shooters) and Nintendo get out there to be original. They've gone places Microsoft and Sony wouldn't dare to tread, so they're the ones putting themselves out and trying new things. Nintendo hasn't done that much that is new, original or revolutionary in the way of gaming Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Double Edge - 24-08-2005 Legato2471 Wrote:What makes you think they'll get back on their feet? Simply put: confidence in Nintendo's abilities as a company. Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - SangeYasha - 24-08-2005 Meh, I hate fanboys. And I hate when say that the other consoles just have violence. I mean, choose what is best for you. If you like the tradicional nintendo games, like Mario, Yoshi, etc, get a Nintendo console. Each console WILL have a great game. I have an Xbox and a GC and I want to buy a PS2. I like games, I do not keep fighting to say that one is better. But Nintendo is losing Third Parties, this is a fact. But it would still have their exclusive games. All consoles are equal, all games are equal, it's the "taste" of the player that make him choose one console over another. And yes, Nintendo is losting on the sales, but that doesn't mean that the other consoles suck or Nintendo suck. That's what I think, but I didn't explain very clear... Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Faulkie - 24-08-2005 Of course, if you like shooters and adult-themed games, Xbox and PS2 are a better choice, but what I'm saying is that if you want all the really original games like Animal Crossing, Nintendogs etc, then Nintendo is best. If you hate that sorta stuff, that pretty much sums up Nintendo for you then.
Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - SangeYasha - 24-08-2005 Meh, PS2 is the best console for RPGs. And it's not like that the consoles will just have the games that they are most known for have. All them have at least ONE good game of each genre. But of course that Xbox will have more FPS and PS2 more RPGs. And I hate when people say that ONLY Nintendo do original games. Just look to Katamari Damaci of PS2, Fable of Xbox. But anyway, I like them all equal. Does Nintendo Really Need a Miracle? - Faulkie - 24-08-2005 I didn't say that, I just said they tend to have a lot more. If I wanted to work, clean a house, and pull weeds I'd do that at home and when I want to play with dogs I'll do so with a real dog not some lame 3D image. |
