Resta on R-A for all characters except droids, who have Dimates there. Heal when necessary; once you get your FOney to a decent level you'll find that Resta is more efficient, especially when you're soloing. The only times a FO should use mates are when he/she is surrounded and can't cast, or is playing cmode (where you don't always have resta or the TP to use it).

Unless you have a FOcast (thank you seb XD), why wouldnt you use resta? Besides low TP, are you really going to not use resta? Its not a hack people. And being ubar legit (includes no use of healing) is a little, you know.....not going to help, whats dieing going to do for you that you want?

monomates at the begining of the game, resta later
having 1 hp is not very safe, 1 hit and you die, i like to have full hp when the ocasion is needed (before a boss)
the other ways of healing take a long time.

During normal runs, I can generally avoid the enemies' attacks in Normal mode.
I can't afford to get hit.

in vhard forest the majority of the criatures can't hit me
i remember a time that a moskito (i don't know the name) did 15 damage to me, then i was lvling up and the damage was like 14,13,12.......2,1 and i was so confident because now they could not hurt me, i was wrong, the criature hit me several times and did 0 damage, the next time i was able to defend.
i don't heal on vhard ruins, some times i finish the vhard ruins and healed my self 1/2 times.

i dont generally get hit.... im good ar dodging.. on all modes... ultimate creatures dont take very long to get used to- buuuut when i do heal- i use resta ALWAYS.. cant put my lvl 27 resta to waste ^.^

with Deband and Jellen going on my FOmar doesnt take any damage from most enemies up to ult caves,so i dont really need to heal, when i do i usually use mates as they don't take up tp, if its a multiplayer game or online i resta everywhere.
